Aligning Project Management with Organizational Strategy
Description Speaker(s)

Project managers exercise a lot of care to ensure that they "Do Things Right." Flawless execution of project management tools and techniques can be completely derailed, however, if it turns out the project they have undertaken runs counter to organizational strategy. How can project managers ensure sponsor and organizational commitment so the project does not get canceled halfway through, or resources get reassigned?

Join us for a session that will teach you how to evaluate whether your project actually aligns with strategy. It does? Great! Here are some metrics which will help you describe your project in terms that are critical to senior executives, which will raise the visibility and value of your project. It does not? Here is how to raise that concern with senior executives. Raise your own value within the organization by moving beyond tactical excellence.

  • Be able to describe their projects to senior executives in terms of achieving strategic objectives, and develop the right metrics to support those statements
  • understand how to use project management techniques to implement strategic alignment throughout their organization
